It’s no understatement that the author, activist and winemaker Keto Ninidze has single-handedly revitalized the small region of Samegrelo, a historic winemaking region in northwest Georgia, largely neglected since the 19th century. After an onslaught of fungal disease and Soviet occupation had nearly wiped Samegrelo off the map, Keto now leads a new generation of winemakers by working to restore the region’s natural biodiversity, championing local grape varieties and promoting Samegrelo as a wine tourism destination – our hero! This dry ‘amber’ wine was fermented on half of its skins in qvevri - traditional Georgian clay pots - for 7 months, then bottled without fining or filtration in limited quantities – just 900 bottles! Evoking the visceral experience of tearing into the first, ushy-gushy peach of the year in flavour, texture & spirit with notes of tropical fruit cup, fresh tangerine, salted pineapple, Meyer lemon, smoked honey & a whiff of woodsy pine air freshener. Starts out creamy, textural and fleshy, then dramatically crescendos into brisk, refreshing acid balanced by a light, pithy bitterness. All the attitude of Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich, a whip-smart silver-tongued ode to loving thy neighbour. While some qvevri-aged Georgian wines are dense and dominated by savoury tannin, this drinks as the freshest, most beautiful light skin contact. We simply love to see it.

Delivery:
For Toronto Orders (M Postal Code) that are placed before 8 pm will arrive within 1 to 2 days. Our courier delivers between 12 - 5pm Mon-Fri and sends tracking. We do not offer same day delivery on Fridays.
If you would like your item delivered on a certain day, please let us know at checkout.
For Ontario-wide orders, delivery will vary depending on the location but will take an average of 5 business days, or longer depending on remote locations.
We can’t *guarantee* shipping times outside of Toronto - we wish! - so please order early if you know you need your wine for a special occasion. Please note our delivery partners for Ontario do not deliver on the weekends.
