Growing up in a winegrowing family in Champagne, Bastien Warskotte never anticipated making amphora-aged wines outside Tbilisi, Georgia until falling in love with his now-wife, Nino Gvantseladze (cute!!!). Together, they established Ori Marani in 2016, focusing on a small range of traditional method sparkling wines, plus a few still wines in all colours. Their wines are as invigorating as they are romantic, evocative of the first, very-earliest days of spring, when the world is still kind of muddy and grey but the scent of fresh green puts a skip in everyone’s step. Areva is a rosé pet-nat made in the traditional method (with two fermentations in tank and bottle) but with the whimsical twist of using natural Georgian honey as a dosage. This vivid pink juice opens with an explosive nose of pomegranate, lychee & white vermouth-esque herb garden, & as soon as you take a sip, the world around you snaps from black-and-white into glaring saturated Technicolor. Hiding at the back of the palate like a little secret are notes of luscious wild strawberry and aromatic lychee, round & plush from partial aging in French oak. This wine is like reading an epic poem that is difficult to decipher upon first glance, but once you immerse yourself in the little world it creates, it will blow your mind and live on in your heart forever.

We don't know if you've heard this, but Canada is a truly WILD place to import wine. Each province is it's own country with super strict rules. For ages, so much of the very best natural wine never made it into the province. That is changing in such an exciting way. We started our own import company to bring you some of our very favourite wines from around the world at the sharpest prices - this allows us to travel, fall in love with a wine, and bring right to your doorstep without a middle person. Put simply, as the importer, we shave one layer off the supply chain. We offer these sweet wholesale discounts when you bundle. From 1, 3 to 6 packs you'll find serious savings. The GWI sticker - Grape Witch Imports - means not only that we strongly stand behind the producer, it also means you won't find a better deal anywhere else in town. It also allows us to source many wines just for the shop - you'll find Ontario exclusives marked GWIE - Grape Witch Import Exclusive. Are you a licensee or producer looking to join our imports roster? Send us an email at hello@grapewitchimports.com
