Elisabetta Foradori is a Hero & You Should Drink Everything She Makes Including This
LCBO & Ur heart!!! Seriously we are obsessed with this lady and this wine and cannot believe it is available at the Italian specialty LCBO in Woodbridge!!!
Buy it before we buy it all for our important bath regiment!!! Okay, Foradori. Welcome to one of the world's most special vineyards in Italy's north-east. Elisabetta Foradori took over her family's fledgling winery at just 20 years old when her father passed away suddenly. This at a time when the wine industry was dominated by men, as if inheriting the gross responsibility and hard work of a winery as a very young human wasn't hard enough (hello, 1984). She pulled out clones and used her gut to choose the best vines to replant organically and later biodynamically. She pursued what felt good. It also tasted good. She is now known the world over as a leader in natural wine, Italian wine and wine period.
As an aside, the amount of websites that call her "one of the most influential female winemakers" is infuriating. As if it was a different job. A different categorical skill level based on gender. She is one of the world's most influential winemakers, no gender ever required. If you see her red Teroldego on a list, buy it. At the LCBO for a steal at $35 is her Manzoni Bianco a crossing of Riesling and Pinot Blanc. Think the seductive perfume of an Italian witch with the curves of forever queen babe Sophia Lauren. This wine is full of the most special character: pears from the tree, dust from the mountains and wilted flowers from our crown. This wine macerates and ages in cement and cask = beautifully nutty exotic flavours. We love it so so so so so much. Why did we only buy two bottles??? Who wants to go back to Woodbridge???? Bringing the female gaze to winemaking, following her senses and absolutely fucking killing it, we are beyond proud to shout out queen babe Elisabetta Foradori for this week's #lcboandu 😍😍😍😍😍🎯🍷 ps: someone once compared Krysta to this queen and she fainted!!!! Biggest compliment of all time. Nicole is waiting for someone to notice how much she loves mountains and is always using her hands. #bueller
