LCBO AND UR BROKE. 💕🥂 Somewhere along the way Champagne forgot that wine was made from farming, and became obsessed with being a #brand™️ 🙂 Families of grape growers would sell their grapes to the big names we know, and because of the crappy weather, lots of chemicals were used in vineyards. In the last while grower champagnes have become increasingly popular, and many producers (even super big ones) are trying to work the soil better, some converting their practices to organic or biodynamic, and some at least recognizing that soil health is important and moving to more sustainable farming. What a nice surprise to see Champagne Geoffrey at the government monopoly store yesterday, where the shelves are usually stocked with big brands with ✨ dazzling ✨ marketing campaigns that usually far outshine the quality of the wine. Geoffrey has a long history of grape growing, and since the 1979s has been keeping all their own grapes to make wine, mostly in the village of Cumières. 2012 vintage of Pinot meunier, Pinot noir & Chardonnay. Fresher and more vibrant than you would expect from a wine that’s 7 years old, and the ✨most✨ refreshing thing we can imagine as we come down off of the excitement of throwing a couple of big parties last month. 👯♀️ Welcome, relaxing end of summer! If you see the Geoffrey rosé please send us some it is very delicious too! Brought into Ontario by Wine Online if you are in the mood to buy many cases! 🌹 Find us drinking this (out of normal wine glasses not flutes) while lying on the floor snuggling our pets.🥂🐕 🐈 Pair with a grilled cheese sandwich. 🧀 Drink more Champagne! 🍾 #lcboandu
