The first WINE SEANCE RAVE!!! A recap.
I mean all we can say is WOW. Our first WINE SEANCE RAVE was a heart-melting success. It is crazy that we can think up our most perfect Wine & Feelings Party that we dream of dreaming of and then one day decide to make it so. When really nice people show up and tell us that it is THEIR narnia dream too, it’s like whoa.
For those who missed it, we spent the day making arts and crafts in the perfect little garage that is the back room of superpoint. We started the day in the fabric store. There we touched many pieces of velvet with our hands and cheeks to find out which ones were just right. We chose two shades of dusty pink. We thought of the colour we would blush when you told us you would be our valentine. We choose a rusty yellow, the colour of our stained white t-shirts after we rolled down a hill of old dandylions baking on a hot summer’s day. We also touched many pieces of twine and lace string. We bought some because it seemed like a nice idea. No pieces ended up in our hair, which saddens us, but they did wrap around many dead flowers we later strung about the room.
We drove to etobicoke to rent a ground fog machine only to find that they were closed, but we did meet a friendly man who told us dry ice could be VERY DANGEROUS. We later saved Keith’s hands when he tried to touch the ice. ITS VERY DANGEROUS. Thank you, etobicoke.
We all waved goodbye to etobicoke and listened to some throw back hits on the way back to the exact neighbourhood we started in. Next was the art store where we went kind of crazy. Krysta focussed on finding us an appropriate watercolour palette, Lauren was all about markers and Nicole kept on using large brushes to brush objects and body parts, it was weird but also comforting and she refused to stop.
We then took all of the evenings bottles to Harry’s, a wonderful place, where we ate hamburgers and talked about the wines and how they made us feel. We took the big table in the corner which is now Our Table, but you can sit in it whenever you’d like and also join us for a glass of Lambrusco if you catch us on a planning day. Bring your own mayo, as we require our own tub for french fries. It's important.
The rest of the day we spent surrounded by friends figuring out the best way to transform a garage into a seance cavern. Many sweet souls made our vision possible. Mary drove her truck full of branches and tree parts all the way from Prince Edward County to Ossington and Dundas. Liz was a flower genius. Evan was a miracle worker with fake grapes. Daniel is so good at ipads. Dane played the sweetest jams our little witchy hearts could hope for. We had pizza and made art and our hearts whistled a sweet tune. Time passed very quickly (!!) and before we knew it we were in our best velvet welcoming you into our arms.
