The soils are a mix of blue slate, clay and sandstone, and the pair focus on growing riesling and a small amount of pinot noir, with the oldest vines at 110 years old! The pinot noir grapes were harvested from slate-y soils, left on skins for eight hours to pick up a perky pink hue before pressing, and fermented in stainless steel tank to keep the expression fresh and fancifully fruity.
