Everything old is new again! We simply cannot handle these early 2000s fashion trends! Is it too soon for low-rise jeans? Yes! But, zip up your Juicy Couture, Bordeaux is back! Bordeaux was once drunk by only the most affluent and ancient crowds before a meteoric rise to power in the 90s and 00s with VERY full-bodied and VERY expensive reds that were more tied to the luxury market than quality. Cue: all cool restaurants and most young people forgetting about the appellation and turning to snappy upstart regions that over-delivered. We’re thrilled to see a small number of forward-thinking, organic producers like Chateau Pre La Lande remind us that Bordeaux is famous for a reason - their capacity to make fantastic and deeply satisfying full-bodied wine. Blackberries, currants and brandy-soaked cherries hang out with dashes of pepper and fresh herbs on a bed of pencil shavings and leather trimmings. Excellent with all kinds of meat, or with a cheeky smoke with your cousins outside the family gathering.
