Luscious & bright fruit rose
Zinfandel, Grenache & Tempranillo, Calaveras County, California, USA

Forlorn Hope’s Queen of the Sierra wines are their entry-level estate wines, which is literally insane because if they were any other producer’s top tier we would accept it in a heartbeat. It’s sort of like when Lou Reed said “My week beats your year”— Forlorn Hop. . .

Forlorn Hope’s Queen of the Sierra wines are their entry-level estate wines, which is literally insane because if they were any other producer’s top tier we would accept it in a heartbeat. It’s sort of like when Lou Reed said “My week beats your year”— Forlorn Hope’s entry-level beats your premier cru. The rosé is a blend of Zinfandel, Grenache Noir & Tempranillo, all three of whom are gregarious showboats, like when your three loudest Leo friends go on an island adventure together & absolutely inundate your Instagram feed with like literally like three selfies per minute &, in all honesty, it’s the best content your phone has graced you with in years. Evidently, this rosé is no shrinking violet, a plush & bright red fruit pool party. Grapes are whole-cluster pressed into stainless steel, fermented with native yeasts, racked after a few months on the lees, then bottled two months later with minimal SO2. Lees contact gives the wine body & luscious texture, low-key creamy like a strawberry Campino. Confit watermelon, whiff of orange blossom, hibiscus Jarritos, Strawberry Shortcake doll. A tiny touch of tannin brings it back down to Earth & gives it a touch of foodiness: this wine pairs brilliantly with SNACKS, all snacks, beach snacks, non-beach snacks, chips & charc & choc & candy & all the things we all wish we were eating, all the time.

We don't know if you've heard this, but Canada is a truly WILD place to import wine. Each province is it's own country with super strict rules. For ages, so much of the very best natural wine never made it into the province. That is changing in such an exciting way. We started our own import company to bring you some of our very favourite wines from around the world at the sharpest prices - this allows us to travel, fall in love with a wine, and bring right to your doorstep without a middle person. Put simply, as the importer, we shave one layer off the supply chain. We offer these sweet wholesale discounts when you bundle. From 1, 3 to 6 packs you'll find serious savings. The GWI sticker - Grape Witch Imports - means not only that we strongly stand behind the producer, it also means you won't find a better deal anywhere else in town. It also allows us to source many wines just for the shop - you'll find Ontario exclusives marked GWIE - Grape Witch Import Exclusive. Are you a licensee or producer looking to join our imports roster? Send us an email at hello@grapewitchimports.com
