Their proximity to the water means the clay-rich soil is usually damp and humid, therefor the grapes are grown in a ‘parral system’, or they’re raised up from the ground into a canopy as they need to create space for ventilation from the high moisture content. FUN FACT! Getariako Txakoli is the oldest and largest Denominación de Origen (D.O.), and most txakoli exported to North America is from this region! Green-y yellow, like bright fresh herbs in both aroma and colour, with green apple, Meyer lemon sorbet, baking biscuits, lime zest, seaweed \u0026amp; a jaunty effervescence awash in a salty, crystalline minerality.
