A crispy, crunchy and curiously fruity melding, snuggled somewhere between wine, cider and a dream. Pinard & Filles, aka Catherine Belanger and Frederic Simon, organically farm a tiny 2.2 hectares where they fully embrace experimentation, minimal-intervention & simply great wines. They are famed for their ability to lift the less appreciated, hybrid grapes up to their regal, cold-climate pedestal. FUN FACT! ‘Picniquette’ is the result of a happy collaboration with their friends at Cabane d'à Côté! A co-fermentation of green, berried dornfelder, spiced, tart blaufränkish and apple must in stainless steel tank, made in the Charmat style and with an addition of CO2. Raspberry jam til the cows come home, apple juice, liquorice blossoms, cranberry, cherry hard candies, a fine n' FIZZY bubble & tannins tickle away, making this a delightful paring for anything that you can fit in a picnic basket!
