We’re a small shop and thriving women owned and operated small business, located in the buzzy west end of Toronto. Our mission is to make great wine accessible and fun. It’s our goal to create a safe, welcoming and equitable work environment for all. We bring an equitable and inclusive lens to our take on hospitality and teamwork. We strive to be Toronto’s premiere bottle shop and natural wine hub and we're excited to open our second store this November!

Role: Logistics & Web Lead
Reports: Director of Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
Wage Range: $25-30/ hour depending on experience
Position Summary: A rare back-end position is open! We are hiring for our logistics and website lead. In this role, you’ll juggle a few detail-oriented hats, every day being a little different! On the logistics side, you’ll organize and ship each and every one of our (delicious!) deliveries across Ontario. You’ll answer customer questions, manage our couriers and troubleshoot any issues that come up. You’ll also help receive our shipments and make sure each one is properly accounted for, helping with stocking and inventory. Last but not least, you will keep our website updated and looking fresh! This includes making new shopify products and collections plus refreshing our menu, staff picks, event pages and more. This work is super detail-oriented, but easy to learn if you are comfortable with technology and enjoy getting things just right. If you have a bit more web experience, we’d love you to tweak design to enhance user experience and help with more significant updates as needed.
While we are big natural wine people here, it’s not essential for you to be as deeply into it as we are! If you are curious and love wine, amazing, if you are a detail-oriented people person keen to find a great place to work, that works too! Even if you don’t have all the requirements we mention below, but think you’d shine in this role, we’d still love to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities:
- Pack customer orders from our Dundas shop four to five mornings a week.
- Liaise with customers and couriers to ensure packages are correct & heading to the right place!
- Receive product throughout the day, ensuring each delivery is properly received.
- Unpack boxes onto shelves two days a week to keep our stock accessible and organized.
- Help with monthly inventory, by the glass swaps, and more frequent stock checks.
- Keep the website updated and looking its best with weekly product creation and maintenance.
- If experience allows, taking the time to look through the site, pointing out sections that need improving and developing and executing plans to improve user experience.
Job Demands and Environment:
- High focus and organization, a people person who excels at communication and loves following systems and working in a team.
- Fast-thinking, problem solving and detail-oriented attention will be key to success.
- Must be able to comfortably lift 30 pounds (a case of wine) many times a day and stand for ~4 hours four days a week
Knowledge & Skills:
- Communication skills, problem analysis and problem-solving are critical.
- Confident self-direction with support from the team when needed.
- Attention to detail, discipline, initiation, clear communication and task accountability are important skills for success.
- Previous experience with Shopify and UX design a big plus!
- Comfort with spread-sheets, simple formulas and digital communication.

Role: Shop
Reports to: Shop Manager
Employment Type: Part or Full Time
Wage Range: $25-30/ hour depending on experience + tips while on the floor
Position Summary: We are hiring for our in shop wine stewards! We have openings for full and part-time shop positions in our bustling Dundas Street West location (3-4 shifts per week) and in our brand new Waterworks location, opening this November (4 shifts & a part-timer at 1-2 shifts). This role is ideal for a people-person who loves nurturing community and immersing themselves in the world of wine. Must have 2+ years experience in wine to confidently speak to a large volume (300+) of constantly rotating wines.
While we are big natural wine people here, it’s not essential for you to be as deeply into it as we are! We’re looking for passion for wine and hospitality with a deep desire to learn. We’ll provide the rest. Even if you don’t have all the requirements we mention, but think you’d shine in this role, we’d still love to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities:
- Work on the shop floor introducing customers to our incredible producers and bottles.
- Meet folks where they’re at, helping them find their perfect bottle, while making wine approachable, informative and fun.
- Serve tables and plate simple dishes.
- Provide warm hospitality, while following systems that allow us to thrive as a team.
- Help with important back end tasks like stocking and general shop upkeep.
Job Demands and Environment:
• This is a wine retail and service job that requires physicality - you'll always be moving!
• Must be comfortable standing for 8 hours and lifting 30 pounds (one case of wine) up and down one flight of stairs
• We work with an incredible roster of producers and a lot of great wine! This is a pleasure and a responsibility. Self study, curiosity and a passion for learning are key.
• We're a small space and sometimes there is just one person working in shop (though usually a helping hand close by). Must be at ease problem solving and working alone, including at night.
• We talk to a lot of people about wine and about a lot more than just wine! This community is a joy, but takes energy. In these shop shifts you are on. This is best suited for a true people person who enjoys a dynamic environment and is energized by many conversations over 6-8 hours.
• We do a lot of different things at GW and you'll be a big part of our small team! Best suited to a self-starter who enjoys many things happening in a given week and is cool and collected in the flex and flow of retail and service.
Knowledge & Skills:
• A passion for natural wine and small, artisanal producers!
• A love of descriptions beyond the stuffy classic go-tos.
• Open & clear communicator who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
• Upbeat, warm and enthusiastic.
• Formal sommelier or beverage certifications not required, but nice to have. We have a big list of always changing wines, and our dream candidate has the context to thrive in this space.
•Experience working in a wine agency, wine-focussed restaurant or high volume hospitality space — lots of people asking lots of questions! Never a dull moment!
