He met Maca, who was born in Chile but studied winemaking in France, during a harvest for Luyt and after some time, Macatho was born! From young Cinsault vines near the Itata River, this wine was fermented in whole bunches in tank and left on the lees for a year, then bottled without fining or filtration. Sultry, medium-bodied and wild with notes of plum compote, dirty strawberry, cherry blossom & earthy, smooth tannins. Like an impeccably tailored tracksuit, this walks the line between trendy and traditional in a totally cool and casual way – pair with ‘nduja on toast and actually going to your book club for once.
