A twenty year old (!) PX like a mythical creature with regenerating limbs, infinite wisdom & incalculable power. The pioneering Bodegas Toro Albalá is among the best producers of Pedro Ximenez (PX) in the world today, with the finest vineyard holdings in Montilla in their arsenal, they remain the world’s only specialist in 100% vintage PX. This Andalucían grape is responsible for some of the world’s sweetest fortified wines and is dried in whole bunches for 8-10 days on mats, then pressed to release their complex, thick syrup. Here we have a very rare PX from Montilla made for sipping. Chocolate covered raisins (THEY ARE DELICIOUS), dried apricot leather, fleur de sel caramel, smokey balsamic, pomegranate molasses, liquorice mint & orange peel cream. Can be kept for many decades to come, but when you do open, try pouring alongside fruity desserts, blue cheeses or any doubters.
