Like sipping the reflection of sunlight straight from the Mediterranean waters edge. Oriol Artigas is a mellow yet radical force coming out of the often underrated Spanish natural wine scene. He works with old vineyards, minimal intervention & the sandy soils of coastal Alella – a little-known and petite appellation north of Barcelona, saltily tousled by the Mediterranean. 100% green and resinous macabeu from Mariona Vendrell and Albert Canela of the not too far away Succés Vinícola. Fruit from the 38 year old vines was destemmed and left for 4-5 days of gentle maceration, pulling filigree-esque tannins. Abundantly herbal, with tarragon, lemon verbena, white flower honey, polished minerality, passionfruit bubblegum, camphor rub, tangerine peel tea, citrus pith & salt. Enjoy with a large block of fermented cheese, the WHOLE block.
