This lean & structured sparkling rosé is much more than the pretty pink colour may suggest, a testament to the rocky, mineral-rich soils of the steeply sloped Mosel. Working with Riesling and once-banned international red varieties, Ulrich ‘Ulli’ Stein is a tireless advocate for preserving Mosel viticulture, even writing a manifesto to that effect in 2010. This lean & structured sparkling rosé is much more than the pretty pink colour may suggest, a testament to the rocky, mineral-rich soils of the steeply sloped Mosel. Working with Riesling and once-banned international red varieties, Ulrich ‘Ulli’ Stein is a tireless advocate for preserving Mosel viticulture, even writing a manifesto to that effect in 2010. Twice-fermented in stainless steel tanks, this is delicate and red-fruited with a fresh, linear acid and racy laser-precise minerality running throughout. Thirst-quenching and crowd-pleasing on its own, this hardly needs food to shine bright but if you insist, hamachi crudo sounds nice.
