An oh so pretty n’ precious, zero-zero cab franc straight out of Loire natural wine lore. Fabled winemakers Catherine and Pierre Breton and their organic, biodynamically tended vineyards in Bourgueil have been on the lips of wine lovers for over thirty years and counting! FUN FACT! More recently, the next generation of Bretons, France and Paul (as well as Baptiste, the husband of France), are joining in the living legacy! From the oldest of the Breton’s 12 hectares of vineyards, these low yielding cab franc vines are 100 years old and rooted in the treasured clay-silex on limestone soils which they call, “the most beautiful slopes of Bourgueil”. Seeing three weeks of maceration after destemming and 24 months in barrels, this wine comes to us as the best in it’s Cab Franc Class™, and another example of why we can, should and shall age our natural wines. Ripe cherries coated in Mexican dark chocolate, a shovel full of soil, licking sweet batter off the beater, chalky hands, a cosmo while camping & the structure of black leather shoes before breaking them in.
