COS — came together to fool around with grapes from their parent's vineyards. What began as a humble project, became one of the world's most iconic wineries, revolutionizing quality wine production in Sicily and inspiring the next generation of producers to question the harmful sprays and manipulation they were taught was right in winemaking school. That cheeky streak runs through all of their wines, even here in what should be a buttoned-up, classically savoury Nero d’Avola but is actually a super-fresh take on a dark, brooding red without sacrificing any of that characteristic presence. Aged in concrete, that rich, velvety dark fruit is right at the forefront, alongside anise, dried oregano, white Alba truffles, fired earth & hand-rolled cigars with a slight citrus zing & lengthy tannins. Something grand for your biggest family dinners, pour this for your grandmother at the head of the table, who probably cooked everything (or at least, tried to). Truly one of our favourite producers ever.
