Welschriesling, Moravia, Czech Republic

A plushy, mineral white for lovers of sea glass collections & conch salad. GW’s newest import, welcome Martin Vajcner! Situated near the otherworldly Thaytal National Park, their eight certified organic vineyards spread across 5.2 hectares of the Znojmo wine region. Martin spends most of his time outside, his wines living proof that the cliché, “everything is done in the vineyard” will forever ring true. We fell in love with this project visiting the region last year and are beyond thrilled to bring it to you for the first time. The 30 year old citric and elegant welschriesling, a specialty in the area, is grown on subsoils of paleozoic quartz as well as granite and gneiss that bring out a melting austerity. Fermented and matured in Moravian amphorae and French oak barrels, this white is textured and alive as Pinocchio! Candy necklace damp with saliva, chalky mineral base-tone that sits with you, broken shells, lemon sucker, leesy but not baked, lightly twiggy, Sichuan-y tingles & licking a diamond ring. Enjoy while relaxing to an 11 hour youtube video titled “Soothing Waves of the Sea”.

Rotburger & Pinot Noir, Moravia, Czech Republic

Maybe it was plucked straight from a wondrous cave holding the world’s most precious treasures, maybe it’s pinot! GW’s newest import, meet Martin Vajcner! Situated near the otherworldly Thaytal National Park, their eight certified organic vineyards spread across 5.2 hectares of the ancient Znojmo wine region. We were lucky to visit last year and fell head over heels with these boundary pushing, absolutely DELICIOUS wines and are thrilled to bring them to Ontario for the very first time. FUN FACT! Martin’s incredibly long winemaking lineage dates back to the earlwy 1600’s when his kin were known as the “Weinschnitts”, or “vine-cutters” in English! The lightly spiced rotburger and tender pinot noir are macerated for 12 months in locally sourced terracotta qvevri before maturing in French oak, giving us grandma’s tablecloth tannins, ironed out by clay and time. Fuchsia toned, rich n’ inky, warm and dusty spices, liquorice root syrup, cranberry puree, winter savoury, twigs & hot asphalt steam. Enjoy while pregaming your next black tie event, this baby deserves an O-ccasion.

Palava, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Malvasia & Pinot Gris, Moravia, Czech Republic

Breakfast caesar, carrot purée & zucchini loaf lovers look over here(!) for a natural wine version of V8 juice! GW’s newest import, meet the gorgeous wines of Martin Vajcner! Situated near the otherworldly Thaytal National Park, their eight certified organic vineyards spread across 5.2 hectares of the historic Znojmo wine region. Producing zero-zero bottles of pure, angelic, juicy sorcery where his family has been grape-tending since the early 1600’s. The rich and spiced pálava, famous in the region, and cutting riesling are macerated for 12 months in Moravian amphorae before being matured in French oaks, while the herby grüner veltliner and melon-y malvasia are matured in amphorae without maceration. Tomato, orange squash flesh + blossom, rambutan candies, chalky palms, salty spritzes, fermenting tropical soup of mango and papaya, bitter pineapple leaf & a lifted, clear sky acidity. Enjoy out of a curly straw while reading On Food and Cooking by Harold McGee.

Pick Up:
Free Pickup is available at our shop, any day that we are open. Find our current operating hours here. 

Delivery:
For Toronto Orders (M Postal Code) that are placed before 8 pm will arrive within 1 to 2 days. Our courier delivers between 12 - 5pm Mon-Fri and sends tracking. We do not offer same day delivery on Fridays. 

If you would like your item delivered on a certain day, please let us know at checkout.

For Ontario-wide orders, delivery will vary depending on the location but will take an average of 5 business days, or longer depending on remote locations.

We can’t *guarantee* shipping times outside of Toronto - we wish! - so please order early if you know you need your wine for a special occasion. Please note our delivery partners for Ontario do not deliver on the weekends.

*Although we will always do our best to offer free shipping when possible, customers in especially remote locations may be contacted for additional delivery fees.
