Rolle, Carignan Blanc, Macabeo, Granache Blanc, Côtes Catalanes, France
Standing out like that really cute kid in the class photo with the (unintentionally) asymmetrical bowl cut. A savoury blend of organic grapes grown at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains, towards the southern coast of France. Winemakers Alain and Agnès Carrère of Domaine Majas produce frank and greedy wines that express the generosity of their Mediterranean terroir. Vines range from 15-60 years in age, grown on clay-limestone and shale soils, lending a salty, oceanic depth across the board. Baked apple rings, anjou pear tarts, olive brine, flint struck by steel & laying on a warm stoney beach littered with mussel shells. Enjoy with Belgian waffles & fried chicken doused in maple syrup and butter.
