Envinate, which means ‘Wine Yourself!’ is a Spanish winemaking collaborative founded by four friends hailing from four different regions of Spain. These highly individualistic wines are made with the goal of expressing the distinctive terroirs of Spain and its Atlantic coastline. Lousas comes from the Ribeira Sacra region lush, mountainous Northwestern Galicia, a blend of mostly Mencia accompanied by a dash of an indigenous grape-driven field blend. Galician reds have a rustic & autumnal note of crunchy dried leaves, in Lousas this is accompanied by a powerful slate-y minerality, an intense bouquet of mountain wildflower, & pure bright cherry fruit. Fermented with wild yeasts in open top tubs, the wine is then raised in old 300 and 400 litre French oak for 11 months with no racking. Fennel bulb, black licorice, crucial & wild.
