In 2015, Clement, Fréderic Giachino’s son, took over from legendary Savoie winemaker Michel Grisard of Domaine Prieuré Saint Christophe, a defender of rare or extinct grape varieties. An early adopter of biodynamics, his passion for elevating local variety Mondeuse evolved into the development. . .

In 2015, Clement, Fréderic Giachino’s son, took over from legendary Savoie winemaker Michel Grisard of Domaine Prieuré Saint Christophe, a defender of rare or extinct grape varieties. An early adopter of biodynamics, his passion for elevating local variety Mondeuse evolved into the development of some truly transcendent Altesse. Nowadays, the Giachino family farms these low-yield, old vines under the Prieuré Saint Christophe label — concentrated and rich with incredible tension and energy, brooding dark black fruits and a touch of raw leather gently unravel into herbaceous and floral aromatics with a fine, crunchy minerality. So incredibly delicious, this is regal in all the right ways, royalty getting down and dirty with the village folk, a romp in terribly delicious hay.
