LO! What light through yonder window breaks, it is the Oest, and carignan is the sun! An exciting collaboration between the spirited ‘Amor per la Terra’ team, Jaume Jordà, Salvador Batlle and Xavi Rutia, with growers Salva Batlle & Germans Frisach. Grown organically on clay-limestone soils that help maintain bursting acidity, the blend of cured and spiced carignan (90%) and full, herbaceous garnacha blanca (10%) see two days of welding co-maceration. A zero-zero wine (aka no additions including sulphur as any point in production) that reminds us of tasting fresh winery barrels straight from a glass pipette (ALIVE and READY!). Sticky tacky texture, grape hubba-bubba breath, underripe blackberry, rock salt, sea grass, stippling textures & fermenting hot sauce vegetables. Serve chilled post Sunday afternoon grocery shopping.
