Nebbiolo, Piemonte, Italy
From one of the most well-known natural winemakers out of Monferrato, the second-largest winemaking region in Piedmont, comes this deep, illustrious Nebbiolo, literally named “bad idea” because why is Fabrizio Iuli, a noted Barbera lover and self-proclaimed barberista, growing Nebbiolo in Monferrato, the land of Barbera? Vinified in the traditional concrete for 21 days followed by 16 months in French oak and another 6 months in bottle without fining or filtration. Dense and deep, satisfying and rich, crunchy and lifted – black cherry, cracked pepper, assam tea, rosehip oil and a whimsical, lingering tannin. A true, understated treasure, lustrous and luxurious like a triple-cashmere coat.
