As one of the earliest adopters of biodynamic viticulture, he managed to create Chenin Blancs of extraordinary purity and finesse, in dry and off-dry styles that were unlike the sweet and over-manipulated styles common in Anjou at the time. Made exactly the same as his benchmark La Lune, except with a year in clay amphora instead of barrel, expect that trademark, luminescent and slightly luscious Chenin Blanc texture with the added benefit of a distinct, terracotta-like texture on the tongue thanks to the amphora. Wildflower honey, fresh marzipan, tart green apple, pear skin, macerated gooseberries, apricot pulp & a long, crystalline finish, gauzy silken texture & a laser beam of radiant acid. If La Lune aims for the moon, La Lune Amphore lands amongst the stars. Pair with milk-poached fish & every candle you own, lit for the occasion.
