Located between sub-appellations Viellé-Morgon and Chiroubles, Corcelette is composed of sandier soils that give ample finesse to the wines of Daniel Bouland, a living legend in Beaujolais. ‘Sable’ refers to the sandier soils of this site, which is composed of his youngest vines (dating back to 1926), which are fermented whole cluster for 10-12 days and matured in stainless steel vats and oak foudres for 6 to 9 months. This is supple and succulent with bright, fleshy fruit—smushed raspberries, dark cherries and orange-plum marmalade—with a dried herb quality and savoury finish of liquorice, black pepper and earth. Pair with a mean leather boot & the corner booth of a dive bar.
