A bumpy, off-roading escapade, in which something will inevitably go wrong, but also inevitably go so right? Tenderhearted winemaker Manel harvests biodynamically tended Sumoll from vines planted in 1939! The vineyards are beloved, crops are pollinated by their bee hives, fertilized and grazed upon by their small sheep herd, plowed by their horse Ringo, and treated with such respect for the living, breathing entity that it is. Fermented in a mixture of amphora (underground clay pot) & foudre (extra big wooden vat) – before spending 18-24 months tenderly evolving. A perfect storm of sandy-calcareous soils, climate, vine age & the crucial ability to extensively age their wines, tells a tale that you can TASTE and should be a focal point when looking at natural Spanish winemaking. Comforting cabin must, damp forest, sumac-cherry popsicle, clay covered beetroot, bayberries, & fresh RHUBARB. Like a drinkable magic trick, pour alongside everyday miracles & anything that takes your breath away – or makes you salivate uncontrollably.
