A blend of all the grapes that come from the limestone and schist plot where they grow their top ‘Perspektive’ line: bright welschriesling (on skins), blushing rosenmuskateller (semi-carbonic), a dash of tomato-y ‘Perspektive Rot’ & salty-fruit-cup ‘Perspektive Weiss’. Natural jujubes made by your best friends hippie mamma, tomato skin umami, dusty yellow flowers, watery-watermelon, fermenting lemons, sweet carrots & fairy light acidity. Enjoy alongside a roasted cauliflower with sumac butter, you tender little glow worms!
Welschriesling & Gemischter Satz, Burgenland, Austria | It’s kind of an open secret that we’re high-key obsessed with Burgenland-based winemakers Alexander & Maria Koppitsch. Every wine they make is a near-perfect, perfectly-imperfect expression of method, time & place. Their whimsical, stylish skin contact is named ‘Touch’ as a double-entendre – first, as a cute/hot ‘skin contact’ pun (get it???), secondly, in reference to the profound emotional reactions skin-contact wines tend to evoke in their enjoyer. Getting into the double-entendre spirit of things, we are always TOUCHed by the creativity & innovation the Koppitsches bring to their wines. Touch is a blend of Welschriesling & Gemischter Satz, a traditional Austrian field blend comprised of Gruner Veltliner, Weissburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc & many more. This wine is a symphony, not a rock band! A ragtag gang of intermingling flavs & mineral essences coming together to sing one symmetrical, unified song! 30% of grapes undergo carbonic maceration for resonant fruit— tangerine skittles, pear nectar, salted green mango, piña colada, quince jelly. Rest assured, it is powerful yet bone dry with charming saltwater taffy & pink pepper notes from the alluvial soil of the Neusiedlersee. Light oak, two week on skins & ten months on lees for body & texture. Natty & fierce yet pure & precise, this is a gateway skin contact that might freak out your conservative parents but is defo safe to try out on squarer pals.
