Working out of the Marga Marga Valley, close to the Pacific in Central Chile, the duo draw inspiration from the old ways, pursuing old, local techniques (like aging in animal skins!) and making wine entirely without the use of electricity, machinery or sulphur. Destemmed and macerated for 79 days in Spanish tinajas (amphora) followed by a year in old barrel, this is pungent, tropical and high-octane like a weekend in Miami Beach – guava nectar, mango pulp, calamansi orange & sweet green pepper with a lurid, intense presence & a touch of sandy, terra cotta minerality with a lift from the 15% alcohol. Serpentine and intricate, there’s nothing shy about this wine – pair with mini empanadas and late-night Truth or Dare.
