Chardonnay, Central Valley, Chile

The Echeverria family has been making wine since 1740, originally growing fruit for bulk wine production before they shifted to bottling their own wines in 1990. From ungrafted clones of pre-phylloxera rootstock, this hand-picked Chardonnay was fermented in stainless steel with natural yeasts & and rested on the lees before being bottled without additional sulphur. Banana split, golden apples, pine nuts, Bartlett pears & butter shortbread with a slight creaminess & ripe acidity. Have a glass before walking the dog, throw some in the pan, another glass with dinner, some more to watch TV with and next thing you know, it’s gone!
