A lifted, fruit-forward and lightly smoked zero-zero red-white blend. Situated near Thaytal National Park, Martin Vajcner’s certified organic vineyards are spread across the ancient Znojmo wine region. The wines are made in Martin’s grandfather’s old underground cellar, and the farming and harvesting of their 5.2 hectares is carried out by the whole family. A blend of spiced, tannic frankovka, tart, floral vlašák (or welschriesling) and herbal, berried rotburger, which were all semi-carbonically macerated in wooden vats for four days, before being matured on the lees in French oak barrels and Moravian amphora. Cherry-candy-coated popcorn from the mall in 2010, hibiscus powder, tomato and cranberry juice, tiny smokey bitters, mouth-coating yet delicate blackberry & a mineral longevity. Pour alongside hand-dipping your own beeswax candles.
