A highly aromatic, mineral and fancifully-fruity, zero-zero SHOWCASE of white hybrid grapes straight from Quebec. Quebec wine heroes Pinard & Filles, aka Catherine Belanger and Frederic Simon, organically farm a tiny 2.2 hectare area and fully embrace experimentation, a minimal-intervention mindset & zero sulphur additions. Hybrid grape heroes, the team is herculean in their ability to lift these less appreciated grapes up to their proper place – a regal, cold-climate pedestal we are just lucky to experience. A blend of all the white grapes grown in the sandy soils of their Lanoraie vineyard, the aromatic, tropical la crescent, tree fruity itasca, citric, rich frontenac blanc and honeyed, balanced frontenac gris. All were direct pressed before being fermented and aged in stainless steel to let the power of the grapes ring true. Honeysuckle summer, tangerine tree, yellow pear, quince, at the hairdresser getting shampooed in 2001, a tiny bit of texture, like flower petals, lemon squeeze, rocks, green + orange melon & rosehips. Pour alongside reading anything by Jane Austen, watching the 2011 film ‘Jane Eyre’, or as a well deserved treat after your Jane Fonda style workout.
