A one-time-only bottle of Italian glittering pink stars made during a notoriously crushing farming season! In the last two years, passionate vigneron Paolo Pasini, and star sommelier Amanda Smeltz teamed up to show a different side of everyone’s fave party wine lambrusco. Paolo’s small, three hectare vineyard – which lives at the southern, sunny intersection of Veneto and Emilia-Romagna – produces sincere expressions of lambrusco’s many varieties with a hands-off, come what may approach. The year this was made, 2023, Paolo lost over 95% of his grapes to hail damage and mildew, so the five-grape blend comes from what he was able to salvage in every plot. The resulting wine is Gloria Gaynor belting ‘I Will Survive’! It’s big; it’s assertive; yet it’s not cumbersome – intense yet light on its feet. Think pink ting, new joisey saltwater taffy, pineapple upside down cake, green papaya salad, the pop of the Snapple cap, the runt of the kitten pack & the high frequency and clarity of the treble to a music nerd. FUN FACT! Because of the gummy worm aromas & devastating season that left the grapes ‘totally pitted’ (to use some real surfer lingo), the ‘Frutta Snocciolata’ was named after the eponymous pitted, candied fruit & surprisingly spicy condiment made in the region.
