An interesting, oxidative, Jura-esque Chardonnay to make you love Ontario wine more than you already do! Last House is a new to the market, small batch winery based on the beautiful limestone shores of Lake Ontario, with a few tricks up their sleeves! Here they boldly state, “the unique terroir of Prince Edward County will one day be world renowned for growing Burgundian varietals!”, an increasingly common thought among winemakers and growers. With this in mind, they are wholeheartedly dedicated to working their chard and pinot vines as they reflect the unique terroir of Hillier Ward (PEC). The estate grown chardonnay (planted in 2018) was picked by hand, fermented in steel and then 75% of the wine was transferred to new oak barrels for Malo-lactic fermentation and a few months of aging. Saline slither, bletted quince, lemon biscuit, pear popsicle left in the sun, a new oak spiciness, flint & a waft of billowing reduction. Pour alongside a locally caught trout nicoise salad.

An interesting, oxidative, Jura-esque Chardonnay to make you love Ontario wine more than you already do!
