Labrusca refers to a species of grape native to North America and these whole-cluster Fredonia vines from Niagara come from a vineyard that is over 100 years old, planted before European grapes ever came to the region. A different species = different flavours! Welch’s grape juice, fresh earth & well-worn overalls. Perfect with a chill, & begging to be shared with friends over a spicy meal, a sunny porch or a local loving dialogue. 

Labrusca vines naturally thrive in Ontario’s tough growing conditions & are cold hardy, insect and fungus resistance! This all means less spraying, & happier plants. Shockingly, these North American grapes are not approved by the VQA, leveraging a 71.5% tax on producers to sell this product. Even with this tax, typically reserved for international products, we think it’s worth every dang penny & wines like Drea’s are the future of Canadian wine. ONE MORE FUN FACT!
