Let’s face it, the classics (and all wine) are delicious, but they’re not exactly budget-friendly. As sommeliers, we live for the thrill of discovery: finding wines that sing with the same grace and complexity as the icons, but without the luxury price tag.

In this new GW offering, we’ll explore the fine line between prestige and value. We’ll taste without knowing what's in our glass, comparing beloved benchmarks with their lesser-known counterparts, regions that share the same soul, but not the same price point. Along the way, we’ll ask: what truly makes wine expensive? Does cost always equal quality? And how do we train our palates (and our hearts) to recognize greatness beyond the label? Expect a night of humility, delight, and maybe a few surprises—proof that beauty in wine isn’t reserved for those with deep pockets.

This session will be led by GW co-founder and one of Toronto's most in demand sommeliers, Krysta Oben and Waterworks GM Alexia David, who comes to us from some of Vancouver's very best restaurants including Michelin-star winning Burdock & Co.

All event tickets are non-refundable. Four free community tickets for BIPOC folks available for every Education Hour. This is at our Waterworks location.
