Adam resides in Neumagen-Dhron, one of the oldest wine villages in Germany, where siblings Barbara and Andreas cultivate six hectares of steep, terraced vineyards of ancient, ungrafted vines. The soils are a mix of blue slate, clay and sandstone, and the pair focus on growing riesling and a small amount of pinot noir, with the oldest vines at 110 years old! The pinot noir grapes were harvested from slate-y soils, left on skins for eight hours to pick up a perky pink hue before pressing, and fermented in stainless steel tank to keep the expression fresh and fancifully fruity. Strawberry tart with a side of creme anglaise, underripe raspberry, pinch of salt, grapefruit pith, peach juice fullness & a soft minerality. Enjoy with buffalo burrata and fresh baked bread.
