Young winemakers Antoine Le Court-Chedevergne (Angers, France) and Julia Naar (Rio, Brazil) are part of an exciting ripple of low-intervention winemaking talent to newly settle in the harrowed French winemaking region of Jura (also famous for its perfectly salty cheese, Comté!). A micro-négoce, they currently source organic and biodynamic grapes from trusted winegrowers all over France, with a more recent accrual and planting of their own vines. Here we see a balanced and elegant gamay from Beaujolais left for 2.5 months of whole-cluster infusion in 60% juice (think ratio of people to water when taking a dip in an indoor Budapest thermal bath), which really allows for a unique tannin extraction coupled with an experiential aromatic expression. Tawny red, whole grapefruit, dry soil, dusty density, peeled bark, herbs & sensual tannins that stretch and lay down on your tongue. Enjoy while rubbing your forehead against someone else’s and maybe getting engaged?
