While he has modernized the winery, he has also maintained tradition: every grape is picked by hand, with incredible attention to detail at every step. The vines are around 30 years old and are a blend of: 30% rustic domina, 30% brambly dornfelder & 40% globetrotting pinot noir. Grapes are direct pressed (for this blushing hue) to 10-year-old barrels with an 80-year-old basket press (vintage darrrrling). Left for 10 months on the lees to build a whole tree-house’s worth of structure. Spritzy, a hint of smokiness, kiwi sorbet, blackberry sour belts, pink plums, raspberry juice & a citrus overture like a cold sunrise. Pair with late summer grilled cheeses on the porch.
