A dense, daring and vibrant zero-zero south of France red blend for daily consumption. Winemakers Stefana Nicolescu & Andrea Calek produce wine out of eight hectares of biodynamic vines in the commune of Alba-la-Romaine, in the buzzy Ardèche region of the Southern Rhone Valley. ‘Babiole’ is a blend of 20 to 60 year-old spiced, berried grenache and deep, savoury syrah that were grown organically with biodynamic practices. Grapes were hand picked and macerated on skins for 10 days to pull structure and concentration before 10 months of aging. Strawberry koolaid, rose bed, leather straps, liquorice root infused Campari, wooden chest, clove, cherries, pits & burning sage. Pour alongside afternoons playing hooky, leftover dinners, doing your taxes or enjoying the finest AAA steak around.
