A searing, salty & gently glittering bottle of Spanish white from a cool, art-loving family in the Basque Country! Three generations have been making sustainable and organic wines on 20-hectares where France and Spain melt together, reviving the older winemaking traditions of the region. ‘Xarmant’ means charming and that's a perfect descriptor for this zesty tonic made from mostly the Basque’s native hondarrabi zuri – one of the zippiest and agreeable grapes we know! FUN FACT! The daughter of the fam, Raisa Alava, creates the winery’s gorgeous labels that all depict the kaleidoscopic mountains encircling the vineyards. Expect gentle effervescence similar to vinho verde, a tour through the wine salt mines and for every yellow fruit to make an appearance: white peach, lemonade, sumac (non-poisonous kind) & yuzu vinaigrette. Pick it up and you might find yourself singing “Gasolina” but with the lyrics changed to “Txakolina” all day long. Gasolina fuels the car; txakolina fuels the YOU! Drink with tapas – may we suggest tuna gildas? – for maximum appropriateness!
