A barbera like the familiarity of that one radio song from 1997 that is so engrained in our collective psyche and has no plans of going anywhere, anytime soon. Olek Bondonio was a champion snowboarder in his youth making him perfectly at home on the steep slopes that surround his Barbaresco cantina. The historic family estate 200+ years old! This is the second vintage of a Barbera that Olek produced with some of his own grapes, and some grapes sourced from friends with nearby vineyards. Fermented and aged for a short period in stainless steel, a hallmark Bondonio bottle but lighter, highly quaffable & lively as heck! Lots of wild summer strawberries, fresh sage, thyme, sumac-like tannins & underripe path-side blackberries. Some things will just always make sense, and this is a true pizza night wine if we ever did see.
