Bodega Itsasmendi is an ever-evolving winery that began in 1994, founded on respect for the environment and pride in the region & its grapes. The sensational hondarrabi zuri is a unique, regional Basque grape with lots of skin and little pulp – translating to the wine in a tongue tingling bitterness. Seeing carbonic maceration for 15 days, the aromatics are earthy, lifted and the rustic characteristics of this singular grape are left undeniable. Chamomile and jasmine flowers, green fig, anise, oat straw, persimmon, balsam fir & reading beside a river peeling a tangerine.
