Viña Albergada was founded by Jesus Blanco and Luis Rodrigueza, now a highly respected Rioja producer, known for producing delightful wines slightly outside of the local “rules”. FUN FACT! Since there is no oak ageing for this wine, it is actually against the laws of the Rioja DOCa and therefor why the legal categorization on the bottle is ‘Vino de España’! Their soils are made up of limestone and clay, which heightens the natural acidity and brings the balance suited to this lighter style of Rioja. Crunchy blackberry, leather bound journal, pepper to the max, marzipan, sweet damson plum & fallen cedars. Enjoy with many, many tapas.
