Either one massive single pour or two modest glasses, this can of extra-natural and decidedly zesty Spanish white is ready 2 go! Catalunyan winemakers Jordi Llorens and Jordi Solé with Cristina Vaqué make organic wines in the most hands-off manner we know. Here floral macabeu and citrusy paralleda from 20-year-old vineyards were left on their skins for four days before aging in amphora to give the wine a gentle, textural grip that’s not unlike a baby wrapping its tiny hand around its parents thumb. Science says that ol’ sentimental gag is actually just an involuntary survival reflex – no gesture of love from the baby to speak of – but what better way to celebrate involuntary survival than with a heavy pour? FUN FACT! Can-Vi is not only the name of the wine-in-can project, but also means ‘change.’ The two Jordis and one Cristina say, ‘because life changes and so do we.’ Think: plush zest stuck in the microplane, Maldon salt pinch tin & oyster shell back that looks like a smirk.
