A light, lifted & unsulphured red from the maestros of natural vino at Cantina Giardino! Fun Fact: Aglianico was historically used as an ingredient in falernian wine, a type of fortified wine drunk by Roman royals and dreamers alike. Sure enough, a single sip will get your creative juices flowing, prompting you to actually start that book proposal you’ve been talking about for ages. Or maybe you just need something to pair with a big ‘ole pizza pie! Nothing wrong with that. From a parcel of 80 year old vines planted 500m above sea level, the grapes were macerated for three weeks on the skins, followed by 12 months in chestnut casks and being bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphites. Savoury and spiced with notes of blackberry fruit cake, plum biscotti, bay leaf, black olives and a whiff of cherry leather with soft, ripe tannins and a hair-raising acidity. Hit your local butcher for the fanciest salumi you can find and you’re set!
