Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo & Bonarda, Piemonte, Italy 

A savoury and smokey Italian glou-glou BAGNUM (bag + magnum) for everyone! Carussin was born in 1927 in the southern region of Monferrato, and today the domaine is run by parents, Bruna and Luigi, and their children, Matteo and Luca. The family tends to their 12 hectares of certified organic and biodynamic vines, which are spread over four villages around San Marzano Oliveto in Piemonte with a specific focus on barbera d'asti and moscato d’asti. ‘Completo’ is a blend of tart, deep barbera, aromatic, structured freisa, juicy, mineral dolcetto and spiced, tannic grignolino. The two-bottle-in-one-bag format is super environmentally friendly (the majority of a wine’s carbon footprint comes from the glass it’s in!), and also super handy for keeping this wine fresh, whether it’s packed in a camping backpack or tucked in the fridge for a ready to pour banger. Lifted peony florals, pomegranate, sweet spice, cooling minerality, giant blackberries surrounded by tar, smoke & smouldering herbs. Chill down and enjoy on a splintered wooden table with all-dressed hotdogs.
