A rich, earthy and truly Tuscan red made for DINNER TIME. Ciù Ciù was established in 1970 by Natalino and Anna Bartolomei in the hills just outside of Offida, a small, medieval village between the rivers Tesino and Tronto in Tuscany. FUN FACT! They reject the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers in an effort to promote biodiversity within the vineyards, encouraging the presence of beneficial insects and the natural growth of wild flora! An organic blend of herbaceous, darkly-fruited montepulciano and tart, savoury sangiovese grapes that were fermented on skins with daily punch downs (here the skins are submerged into the juice for more extraction of tannins) for 10 days before six months in stainless steel. Cherry sorbet, blackberry bush, smoking vanilla marshmallow, tobacco, iron & a plum pudding array of spices. Pour alongside big, braised leg of lamb and bitter greens.
