Riesling, Mosel, Germany

A magically mineral and preciously-balanced, off-dry (aka gently sweet!) Mosel riesling. Rita and Clemens Busch work their land biodynamically on the STEEP slopes of a volcanic formation hundreds of millions of years old. Clemens is a fifth generation winemaker and his family were among the first in Germany to commit to organic viticulture, leading the movement and establishing an association of organic growers in 1986. FUN FACT! Kabinett is the lightest style of riesling, and ranges from dry to off-dry – in this case OFF-DRY! Grown on the highest elevation slopes of weathered grey slate, the vines were planted between 1988 and 1990 in their wilder and more remote northern section of the Mosel river system between the Middle and Lower Mosel. Elderflower, animating acidity, white peach into green apple lollipop, singed mint, lemon mineral water & whipped cream. Pour alongside walnut and pineapple dappled carrot cake with the thinnest sheen of icing.
