A dependable & delightfully classique, demi-sec muscat. Fifth generation winemaking brothers Valter & Paolo Anfosso along with Paolo’s daughter Francesca are a team of dreams! Their vineyards encompass just over 11 hectares in the famed communes of Barbaresco & Castagnole Lanze in Northern Italy. Their 30-35 years old muscat blanc à petits grains vines are more challenging to grow, but make it worth it with their explosively aromatic and wildly musky offerings. Picked late, slowly fermented and then cooled to stop fermentation, while a bit of balancing sugar is still present, this classic and beloved style is naturally low alcohol and leaves us with a touch of effervescence (from those leftover sugars re-fermenting). Lemon rind tea, yellow apples, a generous peach season, honeycomb & daisy soap. Enjoy with the remains in your espresso cup, buttered rum biscotti or spicccyyy spaghetti all’assassina – a.k.a. “assassin spaghetti” – a crunchy spaghetti that is fried in tomato sauce, garlic, and the hottest red chilli peppers, and then sprinkled with chilli powder and more red peppers, OH MAMA MIA!
