Benoît Killian is a free jazz drummer who worked as a wine dealer for over 15 years before being offered a small, 2 hectare plot by Guy Bussière in the little-known Côte de Saône, some ways east of Beaune near the Swiss border. He immediately got to work restoring the neglected vineyards, which had never seen chemicals and included vines dating back to 1919. Farming organically with biodynamic practices, he only uses wild yeasts and never filters his wine, developing a kind of textural patina that gives his wines incredible presence. White hydrangea, lemon pith, gunpowder reduction & breezy prairie florals.
